Course & Facilities

Course

Home to the University of Washington’s Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams, everything about our course is purple and gold themed. From the collegiate branded carts to the signature 18th hole that showcases the purple “W” insignia, Husky Pride is apparent at every turn.

In addition to being a favorite among daily fee golfers, the combination of world-class golf, a comprehensive practice facility, and exceptional service make Washington National one of the Northwest’s most sought-after destinations for group outings and other tournaments. This championship golf course has been the site of several collegiate tournaments, including the NCAA regional championships.

Scorecard
01

Par 5

518 yards

The opening hole is a straightaway par 5 that bigger hitters can reach in two. The tee shot must be hit fairly accurately to avoid the fairway bunker on the right and the trees on the left. The green is relatively flat, with just one small ridge separating the back third of the green.

Par 4

420 yards

The second hole is a long and demanding par 4. The tee shot must avoid the bunker on the right and the trees on the left of the fairway. The approach shot needs to be the correct distance to a green that slopes severely from front to back.

Par 4

330 yards

The third hole is a short par 4 with lots of trouble, including the lake on the right and the woods on the left. Your approach shot goes into a tricky green, with the first 2/3 sloping towards the approach and the last 1/3 sloping away from the players.

Par 5

557 yards

The fourth is a long par 5 that demands you hit accurate shots to avoid the constant bunkers on the right and the trees on the left. The green has a narrow opening guarded by deep bunkers on each side, so be careful, or you will set yourself up for a problematic putt!

Par 3

150 yards

The 5th hole is a par 3 that tends to play a little bit longer than the yardage indicates. Three big and deep bunkers guard the front of the green, so it is better to miss long than short.

Par 4

414 yards

The sixth hole is the number one handicap hole. It is a long par 4 with a generous landing area for the tee shot. The fun begins on the second shot, which is to a 47-yard green with water on the left and a deep bunker guarding the right front.

07

Par 4

286 yards

The 7th hole is a good risk/reward hole. You can challenge the water and go straight towards the green if you are a long hitter. The more conservative route is to hit down the left side, avoiding the bunkers on the right and the left. This play will leave you a short pitch shot to the green.

Par 3

169 yards

The 8th hole is another medium-length par three. The long green is angled from left to right and is guarded by a big bunker on the right side of the green.

Par 4

394 yards

The ninth hole is an excellent par 4 with a generous landing area for tee shots. It is always better to miss long than short on this hole because a vast, deep bunker guards the front of the green.

Par 4

380 yards

The most challenging tee shot on the course is the one that must avoid all of the trees on the right, the waste area to the left, and, for the longer hitter, the waste area crossing the fairway from 130 to 100 yards from the green. The green is very long, sloping from back to front, guarded by a bunker on the left and trees to the right. If you make a 4 on this hole, you should feel very lucky.

11

Par 3

144 yards

The 11th hole is the shortest par three on the course, with the hole playing at least one club less than the yardage due to the elevated teeing ground. Even though it is a short hole, the green is surrounded by bunkers on three sides.

Map Photos
12

Par 4

390 yards

The 12th hole features one of the widest fairways on the golf course, so grab your driver and hit it far! With a good tee shot, you will have an approach shot with a mid-iron to a green that runs from left to right, guarded by a deep bunker on the right side.

13

Par 4

358 yards

The 13th hole is a medium-length par 4. For the longer hitter, you can challenge the bunkers on the right side, and if you carry them, you will get some extra yards off the tee. The green has bunkers on the front right and the left side.

14

Par 5

594 yards

The longest of the par 5’s on the golf course, with a reasonably straightforward tee shot. The trouble with the hole comes on the second shot, which must carry a large waste area about 40 yards long and as wide as the fairway. Once you clear the waste area, you will be left with a mid-iron shot to a green with bunkers short and left on the right side of the green.

Par 4

313 yards

A short but tricky par 4 with an uncompromising approach shot to a green with a moat running all along the front and a lake on the left. You do not want to miss the short, long, left, or right approach.

Map Photos
16

Par 3

138 yards

A medium-length par three with a very long and challenging green. The green has a creek running down the right side, a pot bunker on the right, and a big bunker on the left.

Map Photos
17

Par 5

488 yards

The 17th hole is not one of the longest par 5’s on the course but one of the most challenging. You must avoid the water on the left, trees on the right, and the three fairway bunkers on the right side of the tee. Once you hit a good tee shot, you are now faced with a decision: the longer hitter can challenge the lake and creek by the green and go for an eagle, or you may choose one of two layup options. You can make this hole very easy or very difficult.

Map Photos
18

Par 4

391 yards

This is a long par 4 that tends to play shorter than the measured yardage. The tee shot is very forgiving, and longer hitters can shorten the hole by challenging the left-side waste area. If you hit it right at the clubhouse and carry the waste area, it will shorten the hole considerably.
